Home at last

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for this week. I had an amazing time and hope you did too. You were a credit to the school and your parents and I don't think I have laughed so much in a week! I bet you are all tired and cannot wait for your own beds.

I'll get onto making the DVD this week and hopefully have it ready for a fortnight's time. To order the DVD and a set of photos, send £6 into school.

Have a good weekend everyone and thank you again.

Talent show

The talent show began with Teya and Lenni singing Calon Lân beautifully. Not many English language schools sing this song and the girls did such a good job they even impressed the Welsh language schools.

Next we had a surprise entry that we didn't know about. Brittany was playing the piano, not an easy task in front of 200 children!

Finally, the act that we had all been hearing about (or dreading), the boys 'singing' a Minecraft song. What was supposed to be a funny song didn't quite work with their nerves but well done for having the guts to get up boys!!

Final afternoon

This afternoon the children got to play in the swimming pool which was lovely to do in this hot weather.

Finally, they got to pick their final activity from any in the centre which was a real treat.

We are now in the hall for the talent show with Teya Barton singing and Kevett-Iuestyn and the Manic Miners are ... well ... rapping ... sort of. All will be revealed when I post the videos later tonight. Something to look forward to!

Don't look down!

Our morning has been full of heights and ropes.

The children were incredibly brave and everyone had a go at the high ropes course, traversing obstacles 10 feet in the air.

After this they worked in teams to help each other climb and abseil the climbing wall. It was great to see how supportive they all were and especially helped the others that were nervous.

It's lunch time now and afterwards we have our final activities.

Final day

Bore da. The children had a great sleep but the busy week is finally catching up with them and so it's nice and quiet this morning! It's hard to believe it's the last day of activities. The week has flown.

We are now getting ready for a morning of climbing where how they deal with heights will be tested

End of day 3

What a busy day! The children have been a credit to the school. Several staff members have commented on their manners and courtesy.

We finished the day with some competitive games. It was a blast but it's now time for some quiet and so the children have had the choice of watching Monsters University, Frozen or football. I can imagine that after all of the activities today we will all have a good night's sleep. Nos da until tomorrow

Wednesday

This afternoon we have not stopped with skiing, tobogganing and go karts.

It is a glorious day and the children are thoroughly being outside. Although some wanted to go from the top of the ski slope, they quickly realised it's not as easy as it looks and quarter way up was plenty!

The toboggan course was sprayed with water so as well as being fun it was a welcome relief from the heat.

After this we are heading for horse riding before dinner. A fantastic day so far

Day 3

Bore da everyone. We had some very tired children last night so they were fast asleep early last night.

We began this morning with the assault course which is always great fun. Good job the children brought old clothes as you can see. I'm not happy at how the children targeted me, it's not like I soaked them with a hose pipe first (or maybe I did). It's off to archery now, once we're clean that is.

Who would have thought it? St Gwladys showing off their dancing skills! Here's a little treat before we go to bed. Everyone is happy, safe and having a great time. Nos da

Day 2

Good afternoon everyone. We have had a very busy day where the children all learnt how to build a campfire safely and searched for insects in the forest. (Now sign of cougars luckily).

We all then moved on to the shelter building where the boys competed against the girls. While the girls produced a wonderful shelter with decorations and even a swing, he boys changed their mind so many times the shelter ended up looking no different from when they started!!

Finally we went to orienteering where small groups competed to find markers around Llangrannog. There was a lot of running where he children had their map skills out to the test.

Day 2 morning

We've had a very busy morning climbing and exploring the forest.

First we had our forest experience of rope climbing where we found out just how strong the children are. This is good preparation for the high ropes tomorrow.

On the forest walk we took part in a treasure hunt. The children had to collect items on a list and put them in a yoghurt pot. The instructor managed to convince the children that there are cougars in the forest that they need to hide from (but we won't tell them the truth yet!) Unfortunately, when they 'spotted' a cougar the yoghurt pots went flying as they ran away.

This afternoon we are learning survival skills and competing in an orienteering competition after a well deserved lunch

Bore da

Bore da, good morning. We are all ready for our second day which includes climbing and survival skills. We had a good night's sleep which is a good job as we have a very busy day!

End of day 1

So it's the end of day 1 already! We had a fantastic evening watching the sun set and had wonderful ice cream to top it off.

We're just about back for bed and I have no doubt that no one will have trouble sleeping tonight.

Goodnight everyone. We hope all is well at home

Mr T, Mrs Jay & Miss Gardener

First activities

After lunch we started straight away on activities. The children started with the trampolines and showed off their somersault skills. We then went onto the quad bikes where several Lewis Hamiltons (and a few much, much slower versions) showed themselves. Finally, the children had a go of the low ropes and had great fun swinging, crawling and climbing. It's the third meal of the day shortly (yes 3rd since we have arrived) and then we're off to Llangrannog beach to watch the glorious sunset.

Arrived

We've all arrived safely and the children are now having what is described as the best good ever! After orientation we're off to trampolining before our trip to the beach. I'll post an update with some photos later this evening.

Leaving time

Make sure you're all at school for 8.40 to leave by 9. See you soon!
